John – Salvation
The Book of John - passages specific to God’s Plan for Man’s – Salvation.
John 1:
v.12 – Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – v.13 – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 3:
v.3 – In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
John 3:
v.5 – Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. v.6 – Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. v.7 – You should not be suprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ v.8 – The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
John 3:
v.14 – Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, v.15 – that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
v.16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. v.17 – For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. v.18 – Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
John 3:
v.36 – Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”
John 5:
v.28 – “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice v.29 – and come out – those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. v.30 – By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
John 6:
v.26 – Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. v.27 – Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
v.28 – Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
v.29 – Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
v.30 – So they asked him, “What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? v.31 – Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
v.32 – Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. v.33 – For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
v.34 – “Sir,” they said, “from now on give us this bread.”
v.35 – Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. v.36 – But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. v.37 – All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. v.38 – For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but the will of him who sent me. v.39 – And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. v.40 – For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
v.41 – At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” v.42 – They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven?”
v.43 – “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered. v.44 – “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. v.45 – It is written in the prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. v.46 – No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. v.47 – I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. v.48 – I am the bread of life. v.49 – Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. v.50 – But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. v.51 – I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
v.52 – Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
v.53 – Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. v.54 – Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. v.55 – For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. v.56 – Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. v.57 – Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. v.58 – This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.” v.59 – He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
v.60 – On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
v.61 – Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? v.62 – What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! v.63 – The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
John 8:
v.23 – Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name speak for me, v.26 – but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. v.27 – My sheep listen to my voice: I know them, and they follow me. v.28 – I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. v.29 – My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. v.30 – I and the Father are one.”
John 11:
v.25 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; v.26 – and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
John 12:
v.48 – There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
John 14:
v.6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
